Join us on August 13th for the South Dakota Premier of the hilarious documentary, Skanks!

In the winter of 2012, a small community theatre in Birmingham, Alabama mounted an original drag musical, Skanks in a One Horse Town. The documentary Skanks follows the actors and creators from rehearsal through performance and after, at work in their day jobs and at their homes. The cast of amateur performers, some gay, some straight, all unique, bond to form a family of sorts while creating the unconventional show in a conservative Southern city. Skanks explores the bravery of these people, their humor, and the meaning that theatre has in their lives.

Director David McMahon will be available for a live Q and A via Skype after the film.

The screening will be held at Club David in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, and will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $12 at the door.

All profits will be donated to the Sioux Falls AIDS Walk benevolence fund.
