Out Here

Join Indievents and Club David on Wednesday, April 22nd, for the South Dakota Premiere of Out Here.

Out Here is a documentary that examines the lives of queer farmers across the US. It looks at the role they have in the broader farming community and what unique perspectives they bring to farming as queer people.

Out Here was created over the course of five years. The Queer Farmer Film Project visited with over 30 queer farmers/farms across the country in rural, urban, and suburban areas. The movie features 7 of those places, including fermentation expert Sandor Katz and former President of the New York Community Garden Coalition, Karen Washington. It explores the relationships between gender, sexuality and agriculture and highlights the experiences of LGBTQ people within farming community.

Live Q and A with director Jonah Mossberg via Skype will follow the film.

The screening will be held at Club David in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, and will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $12 at the door.

35% of ticket sales will be returned to help the Queer Farmer Film Project. All profits will be donated to the Sioux Falls AIDS Walk benevolence fund.
