Model Hunger

Join Indievents and Club David, Wednesday, July 6, for the South Dakota Premiere of Model Hunger.

Veteran genre actress Debbie Rochon (COLOUR FROM THE DARK, THEATRE BIZARRE) is crossing over the lens in her directorial debut with the self-aware horror film, Model Hunger. The film was written by executive producer James Morgart (WON TON BABY!) and produced by Gregory Lamberson (KILLER RACK), and stars legendary scream queen, Lynn Lowry (THE CRAZIES, SHIVERS, CAT PEOPLE) and scream queen Tiffany Shepis (SHARKNADO 2, TALES OF HALLOWEEN). It also co-stars Brian Fortune (GAME OF THRONES), Suzi Lorraine (PIN UP DOLLS ON ICE), and Babette Bombshell!

The film has played at dozens of festivals around the world, and has picked up a handful of awards including Best Feature Film and Best Actress (Lynn Lowry) at the FANtastic Horror Film Festival in 2015 and Audience and Best Actress (Lynn Lowry) at the Macabre Faire Film Festival in 2016.

There's nothing more thrilling than power saws and vacuums plugging into the screen to suck, tuck, and dismember unsuspecting young women for your viewing pleasure. It's equally intoxicating when the director herself has starred in these roles hundreds of times. Model Hunger is a terrifying perspective of what can happen when the industry pushes one woman too far and the horrifying domino effect that hacks, grinds, and amputates the unlucky women crossing her path.

Former pin-up model and actress Ginny (Lynn Lowry) had been cast aside by the heartless and exploitative modeling industry when she was a young woman due to her body type. Ginny didn't take rejection well and over the years developed into a revenge seeking, blood thirsty, broken woman. When her new neighbors Debbie (Tiffany Shepis) and Sal (Carmine Capobianco) move in, Debbie begins to notice strange things going on next door. Sal credits it to Debbie's psychological instability and believes she is seeing things, falling deeper into her psychosis. Debbie is obsessively determined to figure out what secret life Ginny is leading. Her new nosey neighbor throws a damper on Ginny's lifestyle activities; such as her cannibalistic food addictions and ever growing body count. Both women become determined to put an end to the other's obsession.
