About the films

Wendee Pettis

Wendee Pettis is coming from Hot Springs, SD to share her film Hike: The Movie.

From Ms. Pettis: "Where Your Senses Meet Your Soul! Why are we drawn to the outdoors? Why do we pick up leaf? Smile at a bird? Accept a favor, look away, touch a face... At a time when mankind is just exploring grounding, balance and quantum energy, Hikethemovie explores the undeniable effect of 'the Now'. Set on a single summer day, our young, old, and in-between characters embrace the sight, sounds, smells and touch of the Black Hills. But when the rhythm of nature gets their attention, will they be able to acknowledge their memories, their realitiy and their fantasies? Are they ready to ride the waves of emotion as the path between head and heart is reopened? Ryan, a 10 year old, yearns to explore and find independence. Will his zest for life a humiliation or blessing? Will retiree Walter find peaceful closure or unleash raw wounds? Can Catherine and Mike uncover tenderness when they challenge the granite of the Black Hills? Hike with us! Feel with us! Allow the preciousness of Vulnerability to enrich your life every day."

Jennifer Prettyman

Jennifer Prettyman is coming from the Twin Cities to share with us her short films Some of Angela, The Escape, and Iniquity.

Some of Angela is the story of a passionate tryst that turns fatally sour when a horrific long-buried secret is unearthed.

The Escape - A woman runs for her life as she is pursued by a madman.

Iniquity - Evil befalls a small rural town, and the residents wonder ~ is it just misfortune, a curse, or God's will?

Dorothy Booraem

Dorothy Booraem is coming from Lincoln, NE to share with us her short films Santeria Cloaca, The Deadly Bridal Shower, and No Exit.

Santeria Cloaca - She's a week younger than recorded history but doesn't look a day over nineteen. Get to know the patron saint of women's restrooms: Santeria Cloaca.

The Deadly Bridal Shower - Stacy is going to Angela's bridal shower. The two of them were friends in college but they've since grown apart. Now Stacy's a little worried that she won't fit in with Angela's family. She's right to worry...because at this bridal shower, if you don't fit in...you might not make it out alive.

No Exit - 7 days. 7 people. No TV, no Wi-Fi. We control the light, the dark, the food, everything. Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide. With one million dollars at stake, how long could you last? No Exit.
